About me
Kamyar is an Electrical and Electronic Engineering lecturer with over 10 years of experience in academia and industry. His expertise includes renewable energy systems, lightning locating systems, artificial intelligence applications, and advanced optimization techniques. He is a senior member of IEEE (SMIEEE), a member of IET (MIET), a Chartered Engineer (CEng), and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK).
He has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications presented at leading international conferences, book chapters, and journals. His work has earned multiple awards for research and innovation, which include gold, silver, and bronze medals for pioneering projects such as dual-axis solar tracking systems, IoT-enabled smart energy meters, and hybrid renewable energy system optimization software.
Kamyar has also led industrial projects, notably developing technical guidelines for photovoltaic system design in residential and commercial applications in the Middle East. He has received multiple teaching and research excellence awards and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) from the University of Nottingham. His teaching philosophy emphasizes equipping students with up-to-date technical knowledge, fostering critical thinking, and nurturing industry-ready skills. Kamyar has supervised over 70 undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD/research students on various research projects in electrical engineering, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence.
