About me
I have a clinical background in nursing and midwifery. Throughout my career I have interspersed periods of nursing practice with academic training BSc (Hons) Anthropology and Psychology and BSc (Hons) Health & Community practice and periods in health research. My primary research interest is in knowledge mobilisation. I was recently awarded a NIHR Knowledge Mobilisation Research Fellowship which will enable me to pursue this interest more intensively for 3 years from June 2016. My DPhil by publication on the same topic is nearing completion.
I am also interested in the psychological impact of
unintended injury and injury prevention and much of my work involves collaborating with NHS
practitioners and patients to improve services.
