Area of expertise
- 15 years of mental health nursing experience, including senior practitioner for a crisis team, specialist in adolescent psychosis, and practice development to improve participatory practices with service users.
- Main interest is acute mental health care particularly improving risk management practices.
- Teach pre and post graduate students, module lead research on new nursing degree, and currently module lead for mental health dissertations.
- Lead the CPD module of Working with a Person Experiencing a Mental Health Crisis - involving crisis management in mental health care.
- Involved in research to improve service user's experience of mental health care.
- Currently engaged in PhD study exploring how service users experience safety to engage in their recovery as part of risk management on an acute mental health ward.
