About me

I am an educator with a passion for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Education for Sustainability. I have developed extensive expertise in team coaching, self-directed learning and experiential learning through my role as a Team Coach (Senior Lecturer) on the pioneering BA (Hons) Business: Team Entrepreneurship programme within Bristol Business School. My role involves coaching a team of entrepreneurial students, empowering them to manage their own learning and work effectively as a team through creating and delivering entrepreneurial projects and ventures.

I became a fellow of the National Centre for Entrepreneurship in Education in 2015, having completed the International Entrepreneurship Educators Programme. In August 2018 I was elected by my peers in the sector to the Board of Directors at Enterprise Educators UK, the leading independent membership network for enterprise educators. I served a three-year term on the board supporting a wide range of initiatives such as research and professional development funding programmes and the annual International Entrepreneurship Educators Conference and National Enterprise Educators Awards.

I've been at UWE since 2018, initially as Enterprise Skills Consultant within the Employability and Enterprise department which involved leading the programme of extracurricular enterprise education across the institution. In October 2018 I joined the Faculty of Business and Law as Lecturer in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship within the Aldridge Institute for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. My role involved developing a CPD programme for teachers on delivering enterprise education, delivering an entrepreneurship summer school for secondary school students and delivering collaborative international projects with partner institutions in Colombia and Georgia.

I joined the Team Entrepreneurship programme as a Team Coach in July 2019 and, in addition to team coaching, I am a module leader across two modules as well as taking a lead role for addressing challenges around equality, diversity and inclusion. I completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic and Professional Practice at UWE in 2020, achieving Fellowship with Advance HE.

In January 2023 I became one of the EDI Leads for the College of Business & Law, focusing on addressing the Black-White Awarding Gap. This is an area I am very passionate about and plan to research further within the thesis for my Doctorate of Education. I am also currently leading a project funded by Enterprise Educators UK exploring the intersection between enterprise education and education for sustainability. This follows a project funded through HEIF in collaboration with colleagues in the College of Arts, Technology and Environment, delivering a climate action project with young people. I am also an EDI Champion, which involves promoting and signposting UWE's EDI initiatives within my programme team.

Before joining UWE I worked as an Entrepreneurship Advisor within Cardiff Metropolitan University where I supported the delivery of the Welsh Government's Youth Entrepreneurship Strategy. In September 2017 I was selected as one of 10 enterprise educators to participate in a study visit to Japan to share best practice in enterprise education. Here I presented at the British Embassy on Cardiff Met's approach to enterprise education as well as the Welsh Government support for entrepreneurship.
