About me

I am an enterprise educator with a passion for promoting the value of enterprise skills development across a wide range of contexts. I became a fellow of the National Centre for Entrepreneurship in Education in 2015, having completed the International Entrepreneurship Educators Programme. In August 2018 I was elected by my peers in the sector to the Board of Directors at Enterprise Educators UK, the leading independent membership network for enterprise educators. The board is made up of ten enterprise educators from institutions throughout the UK, each serving a three year term as Director. Our role involves the strategic management of the organisation, influencing policy around enterprise education and representing Enterprise Educators UK at key events within the sector.

I've been at UWE since January 2018, initially as Enterprise Skills Consultant within the Employability and Enterprise department in which my role involved leading on the programme of extracurricular enterprise education across the institution and managing the Enterprise Skills team. In October 2018 I joined the Faculty of Business and Law as Lecturer in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship within the newly created Aldridge Institute for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. My role involves developing and delivering a CPD programme for primary and secondary school teachers on embedding and delivering effective enterprise education. The role also involves producing research outputs to evidence the impact of enterprise education with the aim of influencing national educational policy and working with academic colleagues across UWE to map provision of enterprise and entrepreneurship education to best practice guidelines.

Before joining UWE I worked as an Entrepreneurship Advisor within Cardiff Metropolitan University where I also helped to deliver the Welsh Government's Youth Entrepreneurship Strategy. In September 2017 I was selected as one of 10 enterprise educators from across the UK to participate in a study visit to Japan to share best practice in enterprise education. Here I presented at the British Embassy on Cardiff Met's approach to enterprise education as well as the Welsh Government support for entrepreneurship.
