About me

I am a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering and a member of the Centre for Transport and Society.

As the Neurodiversity Champion of the School of Engineering, I am in charge of coordinating the support offered to neurodivergent engineering students and advocating for them at the school level.

I hold a M.Eng. in Mechanical and Industrial from Arts et Metiers Paristech (Paris, France), a M.SC. and a Ph.D. in Construction Engineering from Ecole de Technologie Superieure (Montreal, Canada).

After being research associate and undergraduate teacher in my early career, I have been Associate Professor at Ecole de Technologie Superieure (Montreal, Canada) for three years before joining UWE Bristol.

I have 20 years of experience in research and consulting in the transport field. My research projects are all articulated around the introduction of sustainability principles in transport engineering and cover a wide range of transport-related topics. Examples of past projects are:

  • Estimation of the social and environmental costs and benefits of pavement management;
  • Influence of street layout on drivers' behaviour;
  • Variations of traffic flow and related emissions over different time scales: evidence from big telematics data;
  • Pedestrian crossings and associated safety issues;
  • Environmental and health impacts of the use of warm mix asphalt in road construction;
  • Design assessment of traffic cones reflective stripes;
  • Longitudinal study of the behaviour of public transport users.
A list of my publications can be found at ResearchGate.

I have about 20 years of experience in teaching at pre-university and university levels at André-Laurendeau College and École de techologie supérieure in Montreal, Canada, as well as at UWE Bristol.
