About me
PhD research question: how are children protected from future intrafamilial sexual abuse after a parent has been suspected by police of a child sexual abuse material (CSAM) offence in England and Wales.
The focus is on families where there is no evidence to suggest that there has been any historial abuse within the home and the suspect parent has not personally virtually or physically directly inappropriately contacted a child to create CSAM.
The aim is to gain an understanding of how many children are affected and explore how difficult safeguarding decisions are made when there is a high degree of uncertainty around the level risk a parent may present to their own children.
I am interested in how mixed methods studies can inform policy and practice reviews where systemic change is needed to adjust to the challenges that arise from technological advancements. I enjoy undertaking qualitiative interviews, reflexive thematic analysis and understanding quantitative data.
