About me

Charfeldine is chartered Civil Engineer in Algeria since 2011 and holder of two MSc degrees (MSc in Geotechnical Engineering and MSc in Structural Engineering), dynamic, enthusiastic, innovative and self-initiative professional academic who has an extensive experience in both contexts, academic and practice.

Currently, he is PhD researcher at the Centre for Architecture and Built Environment Research (CABER). He has developed a Decision Support System (DSS) to inform decision-making and effectively identify risks associated with brownfield sites. Given his wide-ranging inter-disciplinary and multi-industrial work experiences, his research spans a variety of topics in computational modelling and soil science. His particular expertise is in theoretical and applied soil mechanics, with specific insight in advanced soil constitutive modelling and numerical simulation of wave propagation and soil dynamics problems.

Prior to joining CABER, he was employed as an Assistant Lecturer in Civil Engineering. He was worked also at the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning and the City (Algeria), as a Geotechnical Project Manager. In parallel, He has founded Construction company offered commercial project management, engineering, procurement, and construction services.
