About me

I have been a permanent member of academic staff at the University of the West of England since 2018 and am currently a Senior Lecturer in Law. I teach primarily within the fields of Criminal Law and the Law of Evidence, while also contributing to a range of core and interdisciplinary modules across the School of Law.

Alongside my teaching, I have undertaken a number of leadership roles, including Programme Leader across all three School of Law programmes: LLB Law, BA (Hons) Law and Business, and BA (Hons) Law and Criminology. These roles have involved responsibility for programme development, curriculum enhancement, quality assurance, student success initiatives, and the strategic development of legal education. Most recently, I led the enhancement and redevelopment of the BA (Hons) Law and Criminology programme and have also acted as an External Adviser on programme design and development.

I have a strong interest in curriculum innovation, assessment and feedback, and student experience, and have received recognition for my work in these areas. I have also supported the professional development of colleagues through mentoring and leadership roles within the School of Law and the wider University.

My research interests lie at the intersection of criminal law, sports law, policing, and socio-legal studies. My work examines the regulation of football, public order, criminalisation, policing practice, and integrity issues in sport. I have published research on match-fixing and corruption in football and I am currently developing a programme of research exploring the governance of football supporters, alcohol regulation, and the relationship between criminal law and public order policing.
