About me
I am a Senior Lecturer and Link Tutor/Programme Lead for the MSc International Nursing Practice at the University of the West of England. I also serve as Interim Deputy Dean for the joint education partnership between UWE and Hainan Medical University, with responsibility for leading teaching, learning, and assessment across the collaboration.
In these roles, I actively lead and contribute to the strategic design, development, and evaluation of academic programmes and modules, with a focus on enhancing curriculum quality, academic standards, and student learning experiences. I provide academic leadership to programme and module teams, supporting innovation in pedagogy and assessment practices.
My teaching spans both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing education, and over the past six years, I have supervised Master’s-level students undertaking advanced clinical practice qualifications.
Clinically, I bring extensive experience in the care of individuals with complex health needs across a variety of settings, including district nursing, acute and critical care, end-of-life care, head injury rehabilitation, cancer care, and bone marrow transplantation. I also have a strong background in clinical leadership and care management.
My research interests focus on ageing, dementia, and the management of long-term conditions in older adults, with particular attention to improving quality of life, communication, and care outcomes in later life.
