About me

Michael Tchuindjang is a PhD researcher and associate lecturer in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence at UWE Bristol, specialising in defending large language models against advanced multi-turn jailbreaking attacks. His research combines cybersecurity, AI safety, and secure system design to advance the development of trustworthy intelligent systems.
 
For his innovative and impactful work, Michael was awarded the Best Paper Award at the UK Workshop on Computational Intelligence (UKCI) 2025.
 
In early 2026, he was appointed to the Expert Volunteer Panel (EVP) of the UK Cyber Security Council, contributing to efforts to strengthen the UK’s cybersecurity posture by recognising qualified organisations and professionals and delivering expertise where and when it matters most across the national ecosystem.
 
Alongside his research, he mentors students across cybersecurity & AI  disciplines. A native French speaker from Cameroon, Michael has turned his language learning challenges into a strength, using communication to bridge technical depth and human understanding.
 
He holds an MSc in Cybersecurity (Distinction) from UWE, with an overall score of 80%. He is actively involved in initiatives supporting international students at UWE, sharing his experiences to inspire those facing language barriers in the UK.
 
Passionate about people as much as technology, Michael champions inclusive talent development and supports initiatives that empower the next generation of cyber professionals.
