About me

After working as a Lead Associate Practitioner (operations) in the healthcare industry for several years, I moved into academia in 2012. My teaching since this time has included the areas of operations, strategy and general business management. I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Area of expertise

Whilst my formal teaching is situated in operations, strategy, innovation management, and general business management, my primary interest is 'people in operations'. As we are all aware, business arenas are evolving at formidable rates. Therefore, understanding the psychological impact of such changes on the workforce (which in turn affect business performance and outcomes) is to me not only fascinating, but also essential for the well-being of staff and organisational prosperity.

I am in the final stages (corrections) of completing my doctoral thesis, which explores healthcare professional’s job satisfaction and the impact on quality of care. I aim to further my research in the area of people and organisational outcomes, but against the context of increasing competition, advancing technology, and dynamic consumer behaviour.
