About me
A dedicated children's nurse since 2014, I embarked on my nursing journey by training at Plymouth University. My early career saw me gain valuable experience in childrens day case surgery and recovery before transitioning into the commmunity and working as a school health nurse.
Driven to specialize further in public health, I completed my Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) course at the University of the West of England (UWE) in 2017, qualifying as an SCPHN school nurse. I subsequently worked within Bristol and South Gloucestershire community services as a Specialist Epilepsy Nurse for children and young people.
In 2022, I brought my extensive clinical knowledge and passion for education to UWE, where I now work as a Senior Lecturer in Nursing Simulation, contributing to the training of future nurses across all four fields of practice: child, adult, mental health, and learning disabilities. I am particularly passionate about community nursing and public health, and how a specialist nurse can impact the future health and wellbeing outcomes of local populations. I am passionate about simulation based education to bridge the gap between theory and clinical practice. I believe realistic simulations are key to building confidence and competence, ultimately shaping a generation of highly skilled and compassionate nurses.
