About me

I teach on both the undergraduate and PGCE ITE programmes at UWE with a focus on curriculum (particularly humanities and science), child development and professional development.

I have been teaching for over years in primary schools in West London, Bristol and Kuwait. I led history for 7 years and was an Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion facilitator for 1 and a half years. Outside of the classroom, I have led workshops on practical ways teaching chronology in history, using paintings when teaching history and strategies for managing cognitive load in classrooms in South Africa as a part of Project Zulu

My main areas of interest within education research are curriculum design, anti-racist practice, representation within the history curriculum and Early Career Teacher mentoring and support - the latter of which is the subject of my current MA project.
