Nigel Williams is Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Psychosocial Studies. He is a module leader for Systemic Thinking and Practice in Counselling Psychology, Working with Groups and Organisations in Counselling Psychology, and Researching Beneath the Surface Psycho-Social methods.

He teaches on various modules of the Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, and has responsibility for developing counselling clinicians via the supervision of research and of clinical practice.

He also leads case discussion groups for the Diploma in Counselling programme at UWE.

Nigel is a psychotherapist and supervisor, whose professional life has been in the charitable sector and the NHS, developing and delivering mental health services to the general public.

He has developed partnerships for UWE with third sector counselling service providers, and runs public events for counsellors and psychotherapists focussing on research and new developments in practice.

He is a registered psychotherapist and supervisor with UKCP, is a member of Group Relations Network West of England, and holds a BSc in Sociology and an MSc. in Group Relations from the University of the West of England.
