About me

I am a Research Fellow in Green Infrastructure at the School of Architecture and Environment, UWE Bristol. My research focuses on the spatial analysis of urban environments and related environmental, health, and social impacts.

I joined UWE after completing a PhD in Biosocial Science, where I used Geographic Information Science (GIS) and panel study data to investigate how access to 20‑minute neighbourhoods influences biomarkers of health, allostatic load, and wider wellbeing.

Area of expertise

My research is focused on the spatial analysis of urban environments, neighbourhood resources, and their impact on health. I am currently contributing to two major research projects addressing climate change, urban health, and environmental inequalities (GP4Streets and CLMS-Cities). I have also been involved in research projects exploring the health and social impacts of brownfield redevelopment in England and exploring meaningful consultation in nationally important infrastructure projects. My PhD was in Biosocial Science, funded by the BBSRC and ESRC, which applied spatial analysis of longitudinal data from Understanding Society and the English Longitudinal Study of Aging to examine how access to 20-minute neighbourhoods influences biological stress pathways, measured through Allostatic Load. My work combines geographic information science with quantitative and qualitative research to understand how the built environment influences health inequalities and wellbeing.
