About me
I am a Senior Lecturer in Computer Forensics and Security at the University of West England (UWE), Bristol, U.K. I recently received a UWE VC Early Career Researcher Development Award 2017 - 2018 to work on a privacy-aware recommendation system. Previously I was awarded a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Foreign Researchers which allowed me to spend half a year in Tokyo, working at the National Institute of Informatics. I was also involved with 2 E.U. funded projects ("ForToo" and "nifty") during my PhD studies. I hold a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Bristol, U.K., an MSc degree (with Distinction) in Computer Science from the University of Bristol and a BSc degree in Mathematics from the University of Athens, Greece. At the past, I worked with Dr Gianluca Stringhini at the University College of London, U.K as a Research Associate and I was a member of the Information Security Group. I also worked as a Mathematics teacher in Greece.

Area of expertise
I am interested in Digital Forensics, Data Privacy and Security, Data Hiding, Human Aspects of Information Security, Privacy and Trust. My current research is focused on human factors of cybersecurity. I investigate the impact of user's choices in their daily routines regarding their privacy and online security. I am using data collected from mobile devices to create users' privacy profiles and advice methodologies that could effectively enhance users' privacy. Also, I am interested in the proliferation of automatons in online social networks and how malicious entities are able to manipulate public opinion using bots.
