About me

Patricia started her career in broadcast media with the BBC where she first worked in BBC Radio making radio packages for daytime programmes and drive time news. She then moved into television first working in regional news and then national programmes working on factual entertainment programmes.

More recently Patricia has freelanced on BBC Sunday Politics where she uncovered stories such as the Bedroom tax and highlighted the plight of young carers.

Patricia is an independent filmmaker.

Area of expertise

Patricia is a filmmaker and researcher. Her art documentaries offer a means of re-imagining narratives that have been constructed around a patriarchal or colonial lens. She endeavours to offer an alternative means of facilitating marginalised and oppressed voices.

Patricia's current  research areas speak to the politics of ‘voice’ as both an aural and material representation of the subjective self. She is interested in exploring how documentary making tools can be used, non-conventionally, to create an audio-visual language that articulates the visualisation of silenced women’s voices.

Patricia's interest is in correcting the exclusion of the plurality of women’s voices and an absence of their equal presence within a social, political and economic sphere.
