About me

I currently manage two multi skilled teams of engineers and analysts who develop and support the Corporate systems for UWE and Academic Student Systems. These are SharePoint, SITS, ISIS, PASS, web products such as WAMS, CI Tool, UDD and CRM.

The teams are also working on strategic projects such as Web Transformation Project, SIRM, CMT and the integration workstream. During the last year there has been an increase in using Agile as a methodology for delivering solutions that both teams are now using.

 I started in Research Business and Innovation in 2007 to implement a Client Relationship Management CRM system for them. This would allow the service to hold all their business contacts and track activity using one system rather than the numerous methods that were being used.  

RBI used the system to track staff, students, Alumni and business contacts who were attending events, tracking consultancy being provided by the University and tracking the startup businesses. Once the system was embedded in RBI, I started working with other areas of the University starting with the Faculty of Business and Law where we used CRM for Marketing and tracking CPD.

We also used the system to track funding and individual contact for the Economic Challenge Innovation Fund (ECIF) project which was a very successful project working with Careers.

Other areas that the system has been used in are Recruitment and Outreach to track activity in Schools and Colleges, piloted in Admissions to track potential student enquires and marketing to track event attendees.

Two projects that have recently beeen completed are Access West of England (AWE) to track student assessments for disability funding and Health and Applied Science CPD tracking students applying to courses.  

I also represent the service on Equality and Diversity as well as Sustainability. I have been involved in the Race Equality Task Force as well as supporting the University towards the Race Equslity Charter Mark. I have been a Dignity at Work representative for a few years and engaged in the Diversity Mentoring scheme a few years ago.
