About me

I have a wealth of experience in academic development in UK Higher Education – having worked in a variety of roles, including:

• Head of eLearning at the University of Bristol, where I was responsible for providing both tools and academic development for eLearning. I also led the development of the University's first eLearning strategy.
• Deputy Director of the Economics Network, one of the HEA's original subject centres enhancing University teaching of economics nationally, and now a self-sustaining entity, where I led training for new lecturers and teaching enhancement projects.
• Head of Educational Development at the University of Gloucestershire where I led academic professional development, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) for new lecturers, the internal HEA Fellowship scheme and a programme of Continuing Professional Development.

As Associate Director of Academic Practice I now work with programme teams to support the development of programmes, and individuals to support their own academic development, with a particular focus on support for the Faculty of Business and Law.

I am a National Teaching Fellow (2017) and Senior Fellow of the HEA.
