About me

Sam is a diagnostic radiographer (BSc Hons, University of the West of England, 2024) primarily based at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust, with previous experience in biochemistry (BSc Hons, University of Worcester, 2017) and science communication. After graduating Sam undertook a research internship under Dr Alice Berry (UWE, CHCR) developing a systematic literature review on experiences of healthcare professionals delivering physical activity advice to patients with MSK conditions. Alongside CHSS colleagues at UWE, Sam secured funding from the College of Radiographers Industry Partnership Scheme to undertake a research project exploring the experiences and perspectives of autistic and neurodivergent current and former radiographic professionals in the United Kingdom. Beyond this, Sam has consulted on a variety of current research projects across various teams and professions, including a literature review to inform a work package on "Principles of AI for Healthcare", to be presented at the Council of the Deans for Health summer 2025 meeting in Newcastle, data analysis for a project on the implementation of a physical health monitoring tool, and a local project on radiologic service change.
