About me

I am a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of the West of England (UWE). I previously held the roles of Lecturer in Law, Associate Lecturer in Law, and Assistant Support Lecturer in Law at UWE.

I am the Module Leader for the Law of Financial Crime and Regulation module on the LLB Programme and for the Introduction to Law in a Social, Business and Global Context module on the College of Business and Law Foundation Year. At postgraduate level, I supervise PhD students and LLM dissertation projects. I am interested in supervising students researching the law relating to financial crime.

My research interests lie in the law of financial crime, particularly, the law relating to money laundering, fraud, and corporate criminal liability. I have published my research in several leading law journals, including the Criminal Law Review and Journal of Business Law. My research has been used by law enforcement agencies, policy makers, and influential organisations.

I have worked on research projects that have been externally funded by Innovate UK, Stop Scams UK and the Home Office. I have also received internal funding for my research from the University of the West of England Vice-Chancellor's Early Career Researcher Development Award and Higher Education Innovation Funding Scheme.

I am a Steering Group Member of the South West Fraud Forum and the Financial Fraud Awareness Campaign, an Advisory Board Member with the Journal of Economic Criminology for Elsevier and the International Society of Economic Criminology. Within UWE Bristol, I lead the Financial Crime and Cyber Crime Research Network, I am a member of the Global Crime, Justice and Security Research Group, and the Cyber Security and Cyber Crime Cluster.
