Ms Sarah Evans

About me

Sarah Evans is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Appearance Research. Her work is focused on the well-being of (ex-)service personnel and their families. 

Sarah is currently working on a project about the psychosocial adjustment of (ex-) service personnel with appearance-altering injuries sustained during military service, and evaluating the effectiveness of a self-help guide to manage difficult social situations.

In her previous work, Sarah spent some time conducting research at a U.S military charity supporting the well-being of post-9/11 veterans, including a project focusing on the experiences of women veterans, and working on a research study exploring the long-term impact of combat injuries. 

Sarah completed an MSc in War & Psychiatry at King's College London, focusing on the experiences of parents and siblings of service personnel. Prior to this, Sarah worked as part of a Paediatric Psychology Team and has also conducted research with families created using assisted reproductive technologies.
