About me
I am a Senior Research Fellow in Transport and Young People, a role that focuses on making the case for policies that support better transport for young people. I am a member of the Centre for Transport and Society and am working with Sustrans, a UK-wide sustainable transport charity, to deliver this project.
I am an experienced practitioner in transport and behaviour
change. I joined UWE following six years delivering UK wide behaviour change campaigns as well
as working frontline with local authorities and communities to change travel
behaviour. This practical experience is underpinned by a PhD in mathematical modelling.
Area of expertise
Over three years, I will be making the case for better transport for 12-24 year olds across the UK through a mixture of engagement, communication and research. I will be assessing how transport policy and services affect young people currently, as well as their prospects as they transition into adulthood.
The project is funded by the Health Foundation as part of the Young people's future health enquiry.
Key areas of work are
- Youth engagement
- Assessing impact of transport policy on young people's future health
- Communicating research to key stakeholders and raising the ambition for good policy
- Supporting policy development and delivery
