About me

I began teaching at UWE in 2003 and since then I have been involved in every American literature module. I am currently the module leader for Contemporary American Narrative.
In 2010 I was awarded a UWE Teaching and Learning Fellowship and in that capacity I led a UWE wide project to examine student reponses to assessment and feedback.
My research focuses on southern literature and my publications include considerations of poverty, race and class in the work of writers such as Jayne Anne Phillips, Katherine Anne Porter and Rick Bragg.
