About me

I moved to the UK from Florence, Alabama where I worked at the University of North Alabama for 8 years. I have a Master of Arts in Literature with a focus on the American Gothic.

In my free time, I contribute to the Association for the Study of Buffy+, the American Pop Culture Association of the South, and Monstrum (The Montréal Monstrum Society).

I have published scholarship on the American Circus, Shirley Jackson, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My upcoming publications include a chapter on the Conjuring Universe for The ‘True’ Case Files of the Warrens: Essays on the Conjuring Franchise (Edinburgh University Press); the selected bibliography for The Oxford Handbook of Shirley Jackson (Oxford University Press); and a chapter on Firefly (2002) in Toxic Masculinity in the Whedonverses (McFarland & Company).

I'm a proud cat roommate to one Ms. Eartha Jean Kitt Richardson, a music lover, and year-round Halloween enthusiast.

Latest Publication:
