About me

I graduated with a BSc in Psychology from the University of Bristol in 2009, and subsequently completed my PhD on Vision, Attention, and Camouflage in 2014. My interest in healthcare prompted me to join the NHS management scheme, where I held positions at North Bristol Trust and the King’s Fund. Later, I moved to South Devon, working as a project support manager in the Dermatology department at Torbay Hospital.

From 2014 I spent three years managing healthcare projects, including the Project Management of the Emergency General Surgery Review, spanning trusts throughout the South West. Returning to Bristol in 2018, I worked at the University of Bath leading an evaluation of the local social prescribing services. The project, partly funded by Wessex Water, explored the potential of social prescribing and behavioural advertising to reduce medication prescriptions and enhance water quality.

In 2022, I joined the Emergency Care team at UWE as a Senior Research Fellow, contributing to "AIRWAYS-3," a randomized controlled trial (RCT) focusing on advanced airway management for patients who have experienced an in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA). The study involves recruiting and setting up hospitals across England and Wales, comparing a supraglottic airway (SGA) versus tracheal intubation during in-hospital cardiac arrest to assess the clinical and cost effectiveness of treatment.

My commitment to advancing healthcare remains grounded in a pragmatic approach, finding genuine fulfillment in the concrete impact that well-executed research can bring to refining emergency care practices.
