About me

I, Dr. Tanvi Singh, am a Lecturer in Civil Engineering within the School of Engineering at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. I hold a Ph.D. and an M.Tech. in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra , alongside a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering. Committed to advancing my research methodologies and integrating cutting-edge technologies into my field, I also completed an M.Sc. in Data Science from IIIT Bangalore and a PGCert from UWE.

My primary specialization lies in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering. My doctoral research specifically focused on the "Behavior of Batter Pile Groups under Oblique Loads," where I pioneeringly implemented Machine Learning algorithms to analyze experimental data. Since then, I have extensively applied computational intelligence and machine learning models to solve complex civil engineering problems, resulting in numerous high-impact publications across international journals and book chapters.

With approximately 11 years of robust academic experience teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate levels , I bring a wealth of expertise to my current role. My career includes leadership experience as a Head of Department , where I oversaw academic monitoring, board of studies contributions, and strategic curriculum planning. Throughout my academic journey, my core focus has remained on developing innovative teaching-learning methodologies , student mentoring as an academic personal tutor , supervising advanced projects , and fostering a value-driven environment to shape the next generation of responsible, industry-ready engineers.
