About me

I have completed Ph.D. degree in construction management from London South Bank University, UK, and registered as a Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) with Engineering Council UK. I am also a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE), one of the oldest Civil Engineering Institutions in the world. I have started my career in 2004 as a Junior Engineer after completing a Diploma in Civil Engineering. Overall, I have more than 10 years of academic teaching and research experience at University level and have published several research articles in the area of construction management, renewable energy, engineering sustainability, construction materials, waste and resource management and construction 4.0. Additionally, I have served in the civil engineering industry for six years in Pakistan starting my career as Junior Engineer and raising to Senior Engineer level. Prior to joining UWE, I was working in Kingston University and before that I was working in Oman where I have served a Higher Education Institution for more than eight years. I am an approved mentor of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE, UK) and helping graduate engineers to become professionally qualified engineers. I am also serving as member of the editorial board/advisor and a reviewer for a number of journals and renowned conference series. My research interests include, but are not limited to, construction management, safety and health, engineering sustainability, construction materials, construction 4.0, renewable energy, and waste and resources management. I am a STEM ambassador and organize events to motivate young people particularly women in STEM. As a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Oman committee, I help in organizing students and graduate competitions, learning events and deliver invited talks. The following web links provide some additional information on my research and career.
