About me
I am a Lecturer in Computer Science, with experience teaching a range of modules at both undergraduate and master's levels. I am passionate about teaching and have worked across a variety of learning environments, from large-scale lectures to smaller, more interactive sessions.
My research focuses on the design and development of intelligent decision analysis methods and decision-support systems, with particular interests in multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM), artificial intelligence, knowledge-based decision support, and decision-making under uncertainty.
A key strand of my research develops decision analysis methods that integrate quantitative and qualitative information, expert knowledge and subjective judgement to support complex decision-making. My work covers methods including AHP, fuzzy decision-making and other MCDM techniques, with applications across areas such as sustainable supply chains, prioritisation and design decision-making.
Another strand focuses on intelligent methods and software tools for decision support, bringing together artificial intelligence, data-driven methods, knowledge representation and decision analysis. My work has included intelligent forecasting, natural language processing, knowledge and data integration, product knowledge management, and software tools that integrate data, knowledge and decision models.
More recently, my research has extended towards AI-assisted decision support for complex real-world problems, particularly where decisions require the integration of heterogeneous knowledge, contextual information and professional judgement. I am interested in developing decision-support systems that are intelligent, transparent, explainable and practically useful.
As a primary and independent researcher, I have generated high-quality research outcomes. My research contributions have been recognised and published in prestigious journals such as Expert Systems with Applications, Applied Soft Computing, Journal of Mechanical Design and Research in Engineering Design.
