About me

I joined UWE as an Associate Lecturer in Psychology in 2023. I currently teach on the Critical Thinking for Psychology and Animal Behaviour and Cognition modules. I also support students as an Academic Personal Tutor.

Alongside teaching, I research avian conflict behaviours, with particular emphasis on siblicide and infanticide, integrating evolutionary theory, behavioural ecology, and operant behaviourism. I am currently exploring the role of conspecifics in contributing to chick loss in Black-legged Kittiwakes.

My teaching and wider research interests are in animal behaviour, evolutionary psychology, psychobiology, behavioural ecology, and science communication and public engagement.  Occasionally, I even make it into the field. 

Prior to joining UWE, I worked in English language education in academic management, teacher development and teaching international students overseas and in the UK.
