About me

I am a Senior Lecturer and programme lead for the Architectural and Enivironmental Engineering programme at the University of the West of England.

I worked for 17 years as a building services consulting engineer in the industry, for a number of multi-disciplinary and building services consultancies, including running my own consultancy.

During this time I led and delivered projects through the full design process covering; business development; fee proposals; brief and design development; construction and installation drawings; site services; through to Post Occupancy evaluations and building improvements.

I also have extensive working knowledge of contracts, procurement, specification and tendering processes.

During this time I covered most sectors within the industry including; industrial; HE and FE; residential; arts, community and culture; sport and leisure; healthcare and laboratories; office, workplace and schools.

I believe innovation is a key in ensuring we are able to meet the challenges the industry faces. As we continue to understand the psychological impact of buildings and work places on people, along with access to greater levels of energy and comfort data within buildings, our work is beginning to be redefined in new ways. An exciting time to be involved in the industry and teaching its future stars!
