About me

I am an Associate Professor in Economics and lead a number of interdisciplinary research projects. I am the Principal Investigator for the Wage and Employment Dynamics Project, direct the Brunel Centre Bristol at UWE, and am an Academic Assessor for the Government Economic Service. I am also an ADR UK/ESRC  Research Fellow funded to better understand the earnings and career prospects of those working in the green jobs in England and Wales.

I am a member of the Data Research, Access and Governance Network Research Group (DRAGoN). My research focuses on the core areas of economic measurement, labour markets and regional economics, with particular interest in exploring intersection between data, policy and practice. I have a strong track record of publishing both academic and policy related research. My work has been presented at some of the most prestigious economic organisations, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Organisation for Cooperation and Development (OECD), European Central Bank (ECB), Bank of England and Her Majesty's Treasury.

As principal investigator for the Wage and Employment Dynamics programme, I am managing a team of academics who are linking administrative data sources together to create a labour market data spine for the UK. The linked datasets are available as a public good and are transforming labour market research in the UK.

I also currently lead a team of UWE academics at the Brunel Centre – Bristol. Working with partners from the University of Bath and Futures West, we are delivering a multi-million-pound investment to create a regional economic observatory. The group is made up of a team of multi-disciplinary researchers dedicated to advancing understanding of economic, spatial, and labour market dynamics in the West of England and beyond. The centre serves as a platform for collaboration between academia, policymakers, and industry, driving data-driven insights to inform national and regional economic policy.
