About me

Mr. Daniel Delgado-Bellamy is a Lecturer and Graduate tutor in electronics at The University of the West of England. His academic and professional journey reflects a strong foundation in Mechatronics, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction, digital twinning and Mixed Reality, with particular focus on Unity 3D design, Machine Learning, Siemens-Festo Cyber-Physical factory and Microsoft Hololens 2 headsets.

He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and his academic qualifications include an MSc in Robotics with distinction at the University of Bristol and a BSc in Industrial electronics engineering at the University of Granada, currently finishing a PhD focused on Operator-centred Mixed Reality interfaces for Industry 4.0 manufacturing.

He also received an award for the best innovative eXtended Reality idea at the euroXR association spring school in 2022 (https://www.euroxr-association.org/news/xr-spring-school-2022/) 

In the academic sphere, Daniel has taken on proactive action in module design, research-led teaching and practice-based learning. He has played a key role in shaping the MSc module 'Assistive robotics' towards a user-centred design approach, and has supported student group-based learning through additional soft skills guidance.

He also engages in academic service through peer review and governance, contributing to the quality assurance of research and teaching. He has reviewed publications for the International Academy, Research, and Industry Association (IARIA), and the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society.

His publications and ongoing work aim to advance understanding and innovation in Industry 4.0 & 5.0 areas such as cognitive engineering.
