About me

I trained in Occupational Therapy at Liverpool University, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy. I have over 15 years of clinical experience across a wide range of practice areas, with a particular interest in neurology and complex seating. My professional background also includes medico-legal work, preparing expert reports for courts. I joined the University of the West of England (UWE) in 2012 and am currently Co-Programme Lead for the BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy full time programme. I lead the Year 2 module Physical Challenges within the undergraduate programme and also serve as Module Lead for the MSc Rehabilitation programme.

Area of expertise

I am passionate about teaching and shaping the next generation of occupational therapists through inclusive, student-centred pedagogy. I believe in empowering students to become confident, reflective practitioners who will lead and evolve our profession. My clinical soapbox is pressure care and management, particularly the role of seating in preventing pressure injuries and enhancing occupational engagement. I have a strong interest in how meaningful occupation gives life purpose and direction, and I strive to embed this philosophy throughout my teaching and practice.
