About me
I began my career in 1981 at Bristol Polytechnic as a Video Production Assistant and Illustrator in the Humanities Department at St Matthias. After training as an Audio Visual Technician, I joined Avon and Somerset Constabulary in 1983 as a Video Production Technician. There, alongside a colleague, I produced training films for the force and supported covert and overt operational recordings, including major crime scenes.
Following a brief period working on wedding videos, I moved to the Bristol and Weston Health Authority in 1986 as an Audio Visual Technician for the School of Nursing. After several mergers and name changes, this became part of UWE in 1996 as the Faculty of Health. In 1998, I transitioned to the Department of Psychology, where I prepared and created stimuli for psychological experiments and provided a wide range of AV services to the Faculty—covering event recordings, role plays, marketing materials, photography, and more.
Since September 2019, I’ve been part of the CHSS Digital Learning Service. If you’re planning to produce digital content, video, or other AV projects, feel free to contact me for an informal discussion. In addition to my media technician role, I also manage the Faculty’s exhibition stands. If you need to book display boards, please reach out for a booking request form.
