About me
I am a Colombian lawyer and hold a PhD in International Relations from the University of St Andrews.
Currently, I serve as a Research Fellow at Harvard University’s Carr Center for Human Rights Policy and as Director of the research group Marine Justice and International Law at the Center for Marine Justice in Colombia.
My career bridges academic scholarship, litigation, and advocacy, with a strong focus on human rights and international law in conflict-affected and post-conflict contexts, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean.
For over 15 years, I have worked as a consultant for the International Labour Organization and several international NGOs. In 2016, I was appointed Deputy Director of the High Commissioner for Victims’ Rights, Peace, and Reconciliation at the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá. Prior to that, I spent five years as Director of International Advocacy at the Colombian Commission of Jurists.
Area of expertise
My areas of interest and research are human rights, gender, transitional justice, labour rights, peacebuilding and the construction of public policy in Colombia and other Latin American and the Caribbean countries.
