About me

Greetings!

My name is Luke (he/him). I am a PhD Researcher and Associate Lecturer looking at how we make auditory navigation accessible in open world video game environments.

My work is at the intersection of sonification, accessibility and game design and seeks to provide inclusively designed studies and research into breaking down video game accessibility barriers through intervention with sound and sonic interaction. More broadly, I am passionate for accessible and inclusive design, pushing creative boundaries through weird and wonderful exploration, and making sure things are super fun as a result.

I have taught across a real variety of awesome topics, but primarily focus on audio programming, game design and conducting research. I’m also an active musician, maker and breaker of things, and accessibility advocate.

I love a good chinwag about any of the aforementioned topics, so please do reach out if you’d like to chat over a cup of coffee, matcha, or whatever takes your fancy!

Area of expertise

Game Accessibility; Sonic Interaction Design; Inclusivity and Disability Studies; Sonificiation; Audio Programming;
