About me
Dr Mwidimi Ndosi is Associate Professor in Rheumatology Nursing at the University of the West of England, Bristol, and Honorary Professor of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures and Health Education in Rheumatology at Aarhus University.
His research programme focuses on improving health outcomes, patient education, and non-pharmacological care in rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, with demonstrable impact on international clinical guidance, workforce standards, and policy.
His doctoral research at the University of Leeds was a nationwide multicentre randomised controlled trial examining nurse-led care for people with rheumatoid arthritis, forming the foundation of a sustained programme of research on patient-centred models of care, outcome measurement, and non-pharmacological interventions in rheumatology.
Evidence from his research has informed several European taskforces developing evidence-based recommendations in rheumatology, including guidance on non-pharmacological management of systemic lupus erythematosus and systemic sclerosis, rheumatology nursing in inflammatory arthritis, patient education, professional competences, and implementation of recommendations.
His contributions have been recognised through international and national awards for research and professional leadership in rheumatology.
