About me

I’m a Senior Lecturer at the University of the West of England, UK, where my work bridges technology, data, and the life sciences. My research and teaching sit at the intersection of computational methods and biological systems with a particular focus on how intelligent technologies can be applied to real-world scientific and industrial challenges. My work explores how emerging technologies; particularly AI, machine learning, and signal processing can be applied to complex problems in biology, healthcare, and engineering.

I hold a PhD in Technology from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (BioMedical Instrumentation Lab) at Birla Institute of Technology, India, and an MSc in Bioinformatics from Pondicherry University. Before that, I completed a triple major in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Human Genetics that established my multidisciplinary interest at an early stage.

Before joining UWE, I held research positions at the University of York, University of Birmingham, Middlesex University, and Birla Institute of Technology. I also worked in industry, gaining hands-on experience translating research into applied innovation.

I’ve served on technical committees for international conferences such as IThings2019, ScalCom2019, and ISCS2019, reviewed for academic journals, and delivered invited talks in my areas of expertise. My current research continues to focus on advancing the interface between technology and the biological sciences through innovation and collaboration across disciplines.

Area of expertise

Wearable Sensors, Medical Internet of Things, Cognitive Neurorobotics
