About me

Paschal is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Director of the Centre for African Social and Economic Transformation (CASET), where he also serves as Chair in African Research and Partnerships. Previously, he was Associate Professor and Founding Director of the Centre for African Entrepreneurship and Leadership (CAEL) at the University of Wolverhampton. He has advised the AU, EU, The Commonwealth, UNDP, GIZ, The Prosperity Institute London (formerly Legatum), and Africa Start-up Review at Yale University.

Through his role with the Innovation Policy Ignition Programme (IPIP) at Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge, Paschal advises and supports governments and institutions to create sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems that solve local challenges. He is substantially engaged in formulating and driving higher education innovation strategies and policies, having led and contributed to multistakeholder projects exceeding £26million for system-level transformation across Africa and in Europe.

His research has been published in leading journals, including the International Journal of Operations and Production Management and the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research. His award-winning book, Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development in Africa, informed the UN-catalogued Africa Prosperity Index (API) used to measure inequality and prosperity in Africa. A frequent public speaker, including WEF (Davos, Cape Town) and Horasis (Cascais, São Paulo), he has delivered bespoke strategic leadership programmes to over 5,000 senior executives worldwide. He welcomes PhD proposals in Entrepreneurship and Innovation domains.
