About me

As Joint Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer, I lead the delivery of a professionally recognised Criminal Justice Policing programme that offers academically grounded, practice-informed learning.

My earlier law enforcement career involved operational and strategic investigative roles tackling organised and major crime at local, regional, and national levels. This investigative expertise underpins my academic practice, shaping student learning and knowledge exchange.

As Editor-in-Chief of the UWE Policing Blog, I work with a great editorial team in providing a platform for student and practitioner voices on current policing issues. I also act as External Examiner for undergraduate policing programmes at two UK universities.

I remain engaged with professional investigative practice and continue to contribute to media projects exploring high-profile crimes.

I hold a Master's degree with distinction in Criminology and Criminal Psychology, a Post Graduate Certificate in Applied Professional Practice and an undergraduate degree in Law. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the British Society of Criminology.
