About me
Dr Pranaynil Saikia is a Lecturer in Thermofluids at the School of Engineering, University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. He joined UWE in 2026.
Dr Pranaynil obtained his PhD from the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in 2021 and then worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Integrated Renewable Energy Generation and Supply, Cardiff University before joining UWE.
Dr Pranaynil has over 8 years of experience in energy systems modelling and analysis. His specific research areas include:
-Building energy efficiency
-Thermal energy storage
-Optimisation and AI applications in energy systems
-Geographic information system-based modelling of energy infrastructure
-Battery thermal management in electric vehicles
His research work has been disseminated through over 30 international journal and conference papers.
