About me
Dr. Brohi is a senior educationist in Computer Science and Cybersecurity, and a distinguished researcher in Adversarial AI, Explainable AI (XAI), UAVs, IoT and Cloud Security. He has also contributed to LLMs and Agentic AI research through one of the earliest comprehensive and insightful review papers.
Currently a Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security and Programme Leader of MSc IT at UWE, Bristol, he has over a decade of teaching experience at top-ranked universities. Recently, he led MSc IT to achieve 100% overall satisfaction in PTES 2025, reflecting his commitment to academic excellence, inclusive pedagogy and educational leadership. He serves as an External Examiner for the University of Gloucestershire and the University of Technology, Bahrain. During his previous roles, he held significant responsibilities such as Coordinator of T&L, staff recruitment and overseeing university programme validations.
He is widely recognised for his research on adversarial AI and explainable AI in healthcare applications such as brain tumour and breast cancer detection, as well as for his UAVs research relating to secure drone communications and simulations for real-world scenarios. His publication "A Research Landscape of Agentic AI and Large Language Models: Applications, Challenges and Future Directions" is among the pioneering works analysing the intersection of Agentic AI and LLMs, presenting a structured roadmap and a novel foundation for future research. A testament to his research excellence, he has secured grants totalling £200,315 from prestigious bodies, including the British Council and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.
He has received multiple accolades: Best Paper Award at ICTIDS (2019), Outstanding Student Award for his MSc in Software Engineering at Staffordshire University (2010), and International Doctoral Fellowship for his PhD research on Cloud Security from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2011/12).
He has supervised and examined PhD research on IoT, UAV protocols, digital twins, blockchain variants and software fuzzing using cryptography. His supervision of over 50 Master's projects further underscores his dedication to mentoring the next generation of researchers.
He reviews for IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Elsevier Intelligence-Based Medicine, Journal of Information Security and Applications, Computers & Security and many other journals. Supported by collaborations with industry and academia, his work addresses critical challenges in technology, contributing to the development of secure and resilient solutions.
