About me

Dr. Trupti Padiya is a senior lecturer at the School of Computing and Creative Technologies, University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. She is the deputy program leader for BSc(Hons) Computer Science.

Dr. Padiya's research covers multiple specialisations of computer science, including distributed databases and query processing, semantic modelling, knowledge graphs, and data interoperability and interpretability to support various applications in AI. She is a co-investigator in a DARE UK Project TREvolution funded by UKRI. She is also collaborating on GREENGAGE - a Horizon Europe project. She is a member of the Smart Cities theme within the Computer Science Research Centre(CSRC). She is also a member of the Data Research, Access and Governance Network (DRAGoN) at UWE.

Before joining UWE, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher with the Scientific Data Management group at TIB, Germany. She collaborated in various EU-funded projects e.g. Platoon, P4-LUCAT, and TrustKG. Before that, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Jena, Germany in a collaborated project with the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) Institute of Data Science, Jena, Germany. She also contributed to the Citizen Science (CS) Interoperability Experiment (IE) under the OGC Innovation Program.  She was awarded research grant funding from the University of Jena under the Impulse program. She received her PhD in ICT from DA-IICT India.
