About me

I am a senior lecturer in Organisational studies and have been an educator in HEIs for 9 years. I hold the Fellow of the HEA qualification and a post graduate certificate in teaching in HE.


Research: My research focuses on leader influence in the success and failures of businesses. I have led research projects looking into the shared board leadership influence in banking failures, recapitalisations and bailouts, and working with SME leaders looking into issues of leadership and change. 
I have £2200 of funding to work with FSB in the SW on a reseach project and report looking into the 'Future of SW towns' 

Knowledge exchange and Business engagment: I have been awarded £15,000 funding to work with leaders of SME's nationally on a series of workshops covering leadership of change, leading and understanding teams,  rational decision making, having difficult converstations, managing finances and leading paradoxes, 

Projects: ESF: SEED/SEES and HTiD/HTiS Projects (OC16S16P0345): I was part of the delivery team/CI on a 4 year project with Plymouth University and the FSB  for delivery of leadership short courses throughout the South west.

Area of expertise

My areas of experise are: Leader influence in successful companies; performance teams;  leadership and entrepreneurship. I work with leaders of SMEs on a national basis and contribute to the UK policy debate around entrepreneurship and developing our SME's to be the best they can be.
