About me

Anna is a Senior Lecturer in Architecture and Programme Leader of the BSc (Hons) Architecture course. She is an EU Qualified Architect, member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). She holds a Masters degree in Architectural Design (Advanced Virtual and Technological Architecture Research) from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.

She has gained a broad range of experience in the industry working for national and international design-led practices in a range of sectors including architecture, interior architecture and landscape architecture. She has collaborated with high profile companies such as KCA International, MKV Design, Hartmann Designs, Gustafson Porter and Foster and Partners. She has also worked on residential and commercial projects for private clients in Spain and Athens. She taught as a Visiting Professor in architecture at the IE University in Segovia, Spain and as a Senior Lecturer in interior design at Falmouth University.

Her research focuses on biomaterials, biosensing, responsive building systems, sustainable design and smart wearables. She is a member of the Unconventional Computing Lab at the University of the West of England. She is currently researching the sensing capabilities of fungal and bacterial composites for wearable and building system applications and their response to environmental, chemical and mechanical stimuli.
