Jo Stringer – Course Manager of the BPTC (Part Time)

Jo is a solicitor (non-practising) with many years' experience of commercial litigation with the city firm of Herbert Smith (spending time in both their London and Hong Kong offices). She specialised in international banking and general commercial litigation. She teaches civil litigation and evidence and civil advocacy on the part-time and full-time courses and is subject leader for civil litigation and evidence on the full time and part time courses.  Jo is also an accredited NITA and ATC advocacy trainer and a qualified commercial civil mediator with the ADR Group. She is also responsible for managing and coordinating the Accredited Commercial Mediator Scheme offered to both the full and part time BPTC students. Jo is also the link with the Support Through Courts Unit at the civil and family courts in Bristol (formerly the PSU unit) which offers additional pro bono opportunities for students.

In April 2018, Jo was also appointed as Assistant Chief Examiner (Civil) at the Bar Standards Board.
