About me

I am a member of the MSc Sustainable Develpment in Practice, MSc Environmental Management and BSc/BA Geography and Environmental Management teaching teams.  I am passionate about supporting the professional development of our students at university and beyond.  Seeing students develop as people and as professionals is an endlessly rewarding and exciting part of my role as an academic. I currently lead the MSc Work-Based Learning and Level 2 Professional Development modules.

In 2012, I founded the MSc Sustainable Development in Practice through an interdisciplinary collaboration that involved all UWE's faculties.

I am interested in all things sustainability and most recently this has focussed on local food systems and community-based action on 'good food'.

Before returning to academia in 2008, I was Principal Sustainability Advisor with the sustainable development charity Forum for the Future, where I worked with public sector organisations to embed sustainability into governance, policy and service delivery. I began my academic career at UWE with a PhD that examined the impact of environmental information on planning processes in Germany.
