About me

I teach on MSc Sustainable Development in Practice. I also run the modules Sustainable Resource Management, Professional Development for Geographers and Professional Experience for BA and BSc Geography.  As part of UWE's contribution to Bristol's year as European Green Capital in 2015 I led the development of Our Green City; a free open online course created to engage the public with the issues of sustainable cities. In November 2016 Our Green City received a Green Gown Award from the Environmental Association of Universities and Colleges (EAUC).Before returning to academia in 2008, I was Principal Sustainability Advisor with the sustainable development charity Forum for the Future, where I worked with public sector organisations to embed sustainability into governance, policy and service delivery. I began my academic career at UWE with a PhD that examined the impact of environmental information on planning processes in Germany.
